How to use Uncle Jerry’s Jamaican Jerk Rub & Seasoning
- Sprinkle it on as lightly or heavily as you’d like before cooking your chicken, pork, etc.
- Try putting it on vegetables – it’s amazing!
- Make the seasoning into a paste that you can rub into your choice of protein by adding 2 tbsp Uncle Jerry’s, 2 tbsp distilled white vinegar and 1 tablespoon water. Make the paste thicker or thinner by varying the amount of water to your preference.
- You can also try coating the meat lightly with oil before rubbing the seasoning into the meat. This tends to make the seasoning stick better.
- Mix in with scrambled eggs.
- Try a little with your favorite guacamole for an awesome dip.
- Mix with mayo for an incredible sandwich spread.
- Try it on fries for Jerk French Fries.
- Mix it with tuna to give it just a little kick.
- Make into a spicy dip.
Jerk Chicken
- 3 tablespoons Uncle Jerry’s Jamaican Jerk Rub & Seasoning
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoons vinegar (white will work, cider is better)
- 2 1/2 pounds bone-in chicken parts (whatever parts you prefer will work)
- Mix Uncle Jerry’s Jerk Rub & Seasoning, vegetable oil, soy sauce and vinegar in a small bowl.
- Place chicken in a large resealable plastic bag or glass dish.
- Add marinade and turn to coat well.
- Refrigerate a minimum of 30 minutes. Longer will allow better flavor to develop.
- Remove chicken from marinade and discard any remaining marinade.
- Grill over medium heat with lid closed for 30 to 40 minutes or until chicken is cooked through, turning occasionally (chicken should always be checked with a thermometer for an internal temp of 165 F to ensure it is done properly).
